WeAudit: Audit Software for CAs, Built on Tally Data
WeAudit started life in 2017 as TallyOnWheels, a cloud product for Tally users, and became a full audit automation suite in 2024. Built in Bengaluru by a practising CA and a computer scientist, it reads Tally, Zoho Books or Excel data and produces ledger scrutiny, Schedule III statements, GSTR-9/9C working files and 3CD annexures.[2][1]
Overview
Full-ledger audit work, straight from the books
WeAudit describes itself as "an AI-powered audit software that helps CAs and Finance professionals automate financial auditing — directly from ERP software". It connects to the client's accounting data, checks every transaction, and generates the reports and working files an annual audit needs.[1]
Its central claim is coverage: instead of sampling 10–20% of ledgers, WeAudit says it scrutinises 100% of transactions against more than 100 rules. It is cloud-based, with no installation for the audit product itself, and works with Tally ERP, Tally Prime, Zoho Books and Excel import.[2][1]
WeAudit names four groups of users: Chartered Accountants handling statutory and tax audits, CA firms running many client audits, internal audit teams, and GST professionals working on GSTR-9 and 9C.[1]
Then vs now, as WeAudit puts it
- Sampled 10–20% of ledgers100% transaction scrutiny
- GSTR reconciliation took daysAuto-reconciled in minutes
- Schedule III required many iterationsFinancials generated with fewer revisions
- Limited time for advisory workMore time for client strategy
