CORAA: AI-Native Audit Software for Indian CA Firms
CORAA pitches one idea to audit firms: "Take more engagements. Not more headcount." Built in Bengaluru by CauseConnect AI Solutions, it runs a statutory audit from trial balance to signed opinion, mapped to the Standards on Auditing, and charges per audit rather than per user.[1][2]
Overview
From 2% sampling to the whole population
CORAA describes itself as "an AI-native audit engine designed for professional CA firms in India." It automates ledger scrutiny, vouching, reconciliation, working papers and audit workflow, "moving you from 2% sampling to 100% population coverage while preserving full audit control."[4]
The ledger, bank statements, tax portal data (GSTR-2B, 26AS), payroll registers and vouchers go in; Schedule III statements, CARO 2020, Form 3CD, a misstatement schedule and the auditor's report come out. CORAA says more than 30 working papers are filed "before the kickoff call ends".[1]
Its central technical claim is reproducibility. CORAA describes a patent-pending architecture with "an LLM fine-tuned on ICAI" that gives "zero hallucinations on financial classifications" and the same answer for every ledger across runs, partners and reviewers.[1]
"CORAA drafts. You judge. You sign."
How an audit runs
Three tracks, one engagement
CORAA organises a statutory audit as three tracks running at the same time, "not a waterfall".[1]
Track A · Engagement
Six analytical stages: ingestion from Tally or ERP, bank statements and vouchers; planning with materiality, opening balances and sampling; intelligence and forensics, including ledger scrutiny and journal-entry analysis; balance sheet areas; profit and loss areas; tax and statutory work covering GST, GSTR-2B, TDS/TCS, 26AS and Form 3CD. These lead to the auditor's report and UDIN.[1]
Track B · Collaboration
Customer and vendor portals with document requests and query threads, review relays from article to senior to partner, OCR vouching with external confirmations, and a findings inbox.[1]
Track C · Review and control
Going concern, CARO, Schedule III, internal controls and ICFR, and the tax practice sign-off for Form 3CD.[1]
The working-paper file has 61 papers across nine areas, including an eleven-paper reconciliation cluster: GSTR-2B, 3B, RCM, TDS, TCS, bank, PF/PT/ESI, salary register, vouching and external confirmations.[1]
SA coverage
Working papers mapped to the Standards on Auditing
CORAA lists its working papers against specific SAs. The descriptions below summarise CORAA's own wording.[1]
| Standard | Area | What CORAA does |
|---|---|---|
| SA 230 | Audit documentation | Reproducible, seeded sampling with a full audit trail. |
| SA 240 | Journal entry testing | Flags last-minute manual entries, weekend posts, round numbers and related-party rings. |
| SA 315 / 320 | Planning and materiality | A fact-pack from the trial balance; materiality set in the ICAI band and locked before fieldwork. |
| SA 450 | Evaluation of misstatements | Every finding classified against performance materiality and rolled up in one summary. |
| SA 501 / 505 | Inventory, borrowings, cash, receivables | Lender-level reconciliations, dual receivables ageing, bank ledgers tied to zero. |
| SA 510 | Opening balances | Verified against the prior year's signed audit report. |
| SA 520 | Analytical review | Checks whether statements that should move together actually do. |
| SA 530 | Audit sampling | Sample size formula shown, with the seed printed on each working paper. |
| SA 550 | Related parties | A missing register is itself treated as a high finding. |
| SA 570 | Going concern | 16 indicators, 8 pre-filled from the financial statements. |
| SA 700 | Forming an opinion | A seven-step, UDIN-gated sign-off; findings above performance materiality block the opinion. |
| SA 220 · SQM 1 | EQR readiness | Names the blockers to engagement quality review. |

Who built it
CauseConnect AI Solutions, Bengaluru
CORAA is operated by CauseConnect AI Solutions Pvt Ltd under the brand "CORAA AI", with its registered office in Bellandur, Bangalore, and an office in Indiranagar, Bengaluru 560038. FAQs
CORAA: common questions
What is CORAA?+
CORAA is an AI-native audit platform for CA firms in India, made by CauseConnect AI Solutions Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru. It connects to the client's books and automates ledger scrutiny, vouching, reconciliations, working papers and audit workflow through to Form 3CD, CARO 2020, Schedule III and the SA 700 auditor's report, while the auditor reviews and signs.
How much does CORAA cost?+
CORAA charges per audit rather than per user: a 10-entity pack costs ₹30,000, or ₹3,000 per audit, with unlimited users and all features. One audit means one legal entity for one financial year. Firms with more than 50 entities can ask for special pricing. Prices exclude 18% GST.
What is the CORAA ICAI member offer?+
CORAA is listed with ICAI's Beneficiary Schemes Directorate. Eligible member firms get their first two audits free and then a 60% concession on audit credit bundles, for example 10 audits for ₹12,000 instead of ₹30,000. The offer runs from 16 September 2026 to 31 March 2029.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. CORAA offers one free audit on a real client entity with the complete workflow, and says there is no 14-day time limit. A paid pack is chosen only when a firm wants to run more audits.
Which accounting systems does CORAA connect to?+
Tally Prime through a live desktop connector, Zoho Books through OAuth, and Excel upload for SAP, NetSuite, Busy and Marg. CORAA lists Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks as coming.
Does CORAA use client data to train AI models?+
No, according to CORAA. Client data is isolated per engagement and not sent to foundation-model providers for training. Data is hosted in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1), and CORAA states it is ISO 27001:2022 certified, DPDPA 2023 compliant and in progress for SOC 2 Type II.
Does CORAA replace the auditor's judgement?+
No. CORAA's ICAI page states that the auditor remains responsible for review, risk assessment, conclusions and the final audit opinion: "CORAA drafts. You judge. You sign."
